5. Before Using It for the First Time

Make sure the power cord is unplugged.

Select the right Measuring Cup and Filter according to the mode you select.

Lift the machine head out of the barrel and detach the filter cup by twisting it clock-wise. (Counter clock-wise to attach filter cup back to machine head.)

Clean the heating elements (filter, cylinder, and 4-way cutter blades) with water and mild dish detergent. Do not immerse the entire machine head under water. The area consisting the control panel and electric power sockets must be kept dry.

Firmly secure the filter cup back onto the machine head (counter clock-wise) and replace the machine head back into the cylinder.

Affix the machine head and cylinder properly.

Now its ready for operation.

Note: The initial soymilk should be safe to drink if the machine is cleaned thoroughly.

6.     Operating Instructions

1) Preparation for ingredients

To make soymilk from pre-soaked soybean: measure 1 full cup of raw soybean (80g) using the Bean Measuring Cup and allow to soak in water for 6-8 hours. Rinse before grinding.

To make mixed rice paste: measure 1.5 cup of rice and 1 cup of other nuts or additives using the Rice Measuring Cup and clean them up before grinding.(If you want to make pure rice paste, please measure 2 cup of rice using the Rice Measuring Cup.)

To make cold drink from Mill mode: measure 1 cup of nut (like almond) using the Bean Measuring Cup. This mode is for mill/grind only, no heating. (Note: the water should be drinkable directly when select the mode.)

2) Add water (Pic.1)

Water level should be in between the two indicator marks before placing the machine head in (note: when making rice paste, water level should be parallel with the upper water mark). The machine will pre-heat cold water when used, however, you can save time from pre-heating by using warm water (no hotter than 70ºC/158ºF). Distilled water is not recommended because there is no mineral.

3) Add the prepared ingredients (soaked soybeans/rice/nut, etc). (Pic.2)

At first, check the filter cup, both sides and bottom (check against light), to make sure all of the holes are not blocked. And then pour the prepared ingredient into the right filter, stirring it.

(Note: use Soymilk Filter for soymilk, and use Paste Filter for rice paste/mixed paste)

4) Tighten filter cup

Ensure the filter cup is securely affixed to the machine head.

5). Position the machine head (Pic.3)

Position the machine head on top of the barrel and make sure the electric outlet and pins are aligned. Press down the machine head to make sure it is firmly attached to the cylinder.

6). Connect the Power (Pic.4)

Connect the power cord to the socket on the machine head and the power source.

7). Operating the Unit (Pic. 6)

(After power on, the machine will sound once) Select your desired mode of operation. Select Soymilk mode when using soaked soybean to make soymilk. Select Rice Paste mode only when the prepared ingredients is rice, or rice mixing with other nuts. The blinking indicative light on the panel tells you which mode you have selected. Keep pressing the SELECT button to until the blinking light is at your desired mode. After selecting the right mode, press ON/OFF button to start operating. If you realize you have selected the wrong mode and unit has started operating, simply press ON/OFF button again to stop.

8) After operating

The machine will buzz when done.

9) Disconnect the power

Disconnect the power cord from the power source and from the machine head. Remove the machine head and immerse the bottom part of it into the Immersing Barrel filled with cold water.

NEVER TOUCH ANY PART OF THE HEATING ELEMENTS.

Soymilk/rice paste is ready to serve, add in additives if desired, such as sugar and flavoring.

10) Cleaning the Machine head and barrel

Make sure all heating elements have cooled down before cleaning. If the bottom of the machine head is immersed immediately after using, it will be much easier to clean.

WARNING!

1.       Make sure these three important parts are thoroughly cleaned before storage:

Boil-over detecting pole - must be kept clean or it may not detect boil over the next time you use it.

Temperature detecting pole - must be kept clean or soymilk may either be burnt or under cooked.

Filter cup - must be cleaned thoroughly at sides and the bottom.

2.       Cutter blades are very sharp use extremely caution when cleaning this part.

3.       Never spray water onto the top of machine head.

4.       Never immerse the barrel with electric outlet or the whole machine head in water. Keep the control panel area dry.

.MAKE SURE THE WATER IS IN BETWEEN THE TWO INDICATOR MARKS BEFORE MAKING SOYMILK. THE MACHINE WILL BUZZ IF WATER IS LOW.

7. Cautions and Tips

1)      Unplug the unit before pouring out soymilk.

2)      Do not touch the barrel during the cooking/re-heating process, as it will be very hot. Keep machine away from childrens reach.

3)      Do not immerse or wash the top of the machine head with water this will damage the motor and microcomputer in the machine head.

4)      Do not wet the socket, electrical outlet or pins. Wipe dry if wet.

5)      Thoroughly clean boil-over detecting pole, temperature detecting pole, barrel, and filter cup.

6)      Assure no blockage on the mesh.

7)      Do not use water hotter than 70ºC/158ºF.

8)      Please do not use the machine to boil water.

9)      Do not store machine into fridge - condensation will damage the microcomputer.

10)   Be extremely careful when washing the cutter blades, as they are very sharp.

Please use only the supplied power cord
